I live in Milan, Italy's financial centre, the world's fashion capital and home to two million people. It lies in the north of Italy in the Lombard region, close to the Alps and not too far from the Mediterranean Sea.

Skandia starting operating in Italy in 1997 and was the first insurance company to sell unit linked products in Italy. Ten years later we are still the only independent company to operate in this huge market. We have a large market share and offer the best open architecture financial solutions in Italy. We sell our products through commercial partnerships with leading Italian financial adviser networks and banks.

I joined Skandia Vita, as the Italian business is known, in August 2001. In June this year I was appointed head of the project management and quality assurance department. Our challenges are to manage all strategic projects and assure a high level of quality and efficiency in all the processes and procedures inside the company.

I arrive at my office very early in the morning because I love to plan my activities in the first silent minutes of my working day. I spend most of my time in meetings and go home late at night.

My free time is fully dedicated to my wife Eva and my two children, Martina, 2, and Federico, 4. Over weekends we organise trips with friends to picturesque places in the countryside around Milan. I also enjoy playing football and running and have an ambitious goal: to run the New York Marathon in November!

Milan is beautiful and full of historic and artistic sights: from the gothic Duomo Cathedral to the neoclassical Teatro alla Scala. In March this year Milan won the bid to host Expo 2015. This is a wonderful opportunity for my city to renovate and to improve its infrastructure.

Our office is in Brera, a beautiful historical quarter in Milan, and after lunch it's great to take a short walk along the old narrow streets. This quarter is famous for its prestigious Academia delle Belle Arti and its picture gallery. Not far from the office is the most famous fashion street Via Monte Napoleone.
