European Embedded Value

The 2006 embedded value numbers have been prepared in accordance with the EEV principles issued in May 2004 by the European Chief Financial Officers' Forum, with all 2004 comparative figures also restated on this basis. Risk margins have been calculated using a market consistent approach, reflecting the distinctive product risks in the individual businesses.
