Funke previously served as chief financial officer of JSE listed companies namely Tiger Brands Limited, Primedia Limited and as executive director of Barloworld Limited.  She was an executive director of EMTS Limited (trading as 9mobile), Nigeria’s fourth largest telco as well as acting in an interim capacity as chief financial officer. She also founded and led the private equity business of the Kagiso Trust Investment Group.
